We are happy to announce that over 7000 families are now part of the NorthPop study!
We are also impressed by and grateful for the commitment shown by our participants during the corona pandemic, where interest in joining the study has remained high.
Now over 20 000 individuals (mothers, partners and children) participate in this large collaborative project between Region Västerbotten and Umeå University.
The purpose of the study is to find previously unknown factors that can reduce the risk of commonly occurring diseases in children. We collect answers from questionnaires as well as blood, urine, saliva, stool and breast milk samples.
The health data that NorthPop collects helps lay a solid foundation for research. Our hope is that the results can be used for more effective preventive treatments.
Since October 2021, the NorthPop study covers all of Västerbotten when Lycksele joined Umeå and Skellefteå.
We want to say a BIG THANK YOU to all our participants!
